Facilities Available That You Should Know:

The airport is located 7 miles (11 km) south of Atlanta’s central business district, in the U.S. state of Georgia. The Hartsfield Jackson airport international terminal helps you to find the ticketing, check-in, and baggage claim area at the airport. Unique underground transit mall and subway train systems connect the passenger to these terminals.

  • Num 1: Handles More Flights & Passengers

It is one of the busiest airports in the world and can handle more passengers than any other airport. This happens because it is the primary hub of Delta Air Lines that are connecting 10 millions of travelers through the airport’s concourses every year.

Other airports that come under the top 10 are Beijing, Dubai, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Chicago, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Paris. By square mileage, ATL isn’t the biggest airport while other airports like Denver and Dallas/Fort Worth have more land, but Hartsfield-Jackson handles more flights and passengers.

The Atlanta airport has 7 concourses: T, A, B, C, D, E and F. The “T” is for the terminal, since Concourse T is attached to the domestic terminal. You can visit any of these concourses by entering via the domestic terminal on the west end or via the international terminal on the east end. These both domestic and international terminals are connected to each other by the plane train people-mover.

To get through its security and onto the plane train, you generally do need a valid boarding pass for an upcoming flight. Otherwise, you can catch a free terminal-to-terminal shuttle bus between the international terminal and domestic terminal.
