Schedule Changes Are Allowed

Change/Cancellation Fee
You need to pay a cancellation fee or a change fee depending on your fare. There is another fee that will be charged for making a change in your journey which would be in addition to the fare of a new destination. It is $125* per person. Besides this, you will have to pay the extra fare for a new route or destination as well.
There s another case in this situation. The airfare of your new destination may be lower than the previous one. In this case, you will get a refund if you want to get. Otherwise, the extra money will be credited to your next journey.

If you want to refund a paper ticket, the airline will first see the physical ticket in order to assess its eligibility. You can take back your paper ticket back to the place of purchase to request a refund (i.e. travel agency or any Alaska Airlines ticket counter). You can change or cancel your flights online, just visit the manage reservation page. When your plans change within the first 24 hours following your ticket purchase, here’s what you need to know:
- If you need to change your flights, then you can do so one time without paying any change fees.
- If you need to cancel your flights, then the airline will refund you the cost of your unused tickets.
The airline will promptly notify you of any schedule changes. You can get the information by ensuring your reservation contains:

If a schedule change results in a new time more than 10 minutes from original departure or more than 15 minutes from original arrival, then the airline update you.

Eligibility to Alaska Airlines Change Flight Online:
To get started changing a flight online, you must have the ticketed passenger’s last name and confirmation code or e-ticket number ready and your purchased reservation must:
- Contain travel that is within the US, Canada, and Mexico.
- Contain no more than 8 air segments.
- Contain no more than 6 passengers in the reservation.
- Not contain a government fare.

Same Day Flight Change
The airline offers the greater flexibility on your day of travel with same day confirmed flight change program. Subject to seat availability at the time of the request, you can get a confirmed seat for Alaska airlines same day change.
How it works:
- Passengers can change the same-day confirmed flight by selecting “Change flight” during online check-in, iPhone/Android app check-in, or when checking in at an airport kiosk.
- You may also request the same day confirmed flight change via an airport customer service agent, or by calling Alaska Airlines reservations.
Eligibility:
To qualify the same day confirmed change:
- You must have confirmed reservations and tickets for flights operated by Alaska Airlines.
- You must request the change before the departure of your original flight.
- You must keep the same origin, destination, and connection cities.
- Co-terminal changes are not allowed.
- Your new desired flight must depart on the same calendar day as your originally scheduled flight.

Alaska Airlines Change Flight Fee
Depending on your fare, there may be a fee to change your reservation. If a fee does apply, then the cost will apply to per person, per change, in addition to any difference in fare. And, when your new reservation is made, you’ll be responsible for a difference in the ticket price. If the ticket price is lower, then the airline will either offer credit towards future travel or a refund depending on the rules of your ticket.

Alaska Airlines Refund Policy
All tickets may be refunded in full to the original form of payment within the first 24 hours after their initial purchase. If you have purchased an electronic ticket and it is wholly unused, then you may request your refund online. For refunds on all other refundable electronic tickets, please contact Reservations for assistance.
If you have made the payments by Credit card then refunds are made payable to the purchaser’s original form of payment. On the other hand if you have purchased your electronic ticket on alaskaair.com, you can request your refund online, as long as the ticket is wholly unused. For other refunds on all refundable electronic tickets, you are advised to contact Reservations for assistance.
Ticket Refund Time:
The airline will refund all eligible tickets within:
- 20 business days for cash purchases
- 7 business days for credit card purchases.
Note: It may take 7-14 business days for your credit card company to post your refund to your account.
In order to refund a paper ticket, the first airline will see the physical ticket in order to assess its eligibility. You can also mail your paper ticket for processing.
- If your paper ticket is lost, stolen, or destroyed, then you must purchase a new one in order to travel.
- You can request a refund for the lost ticket, minus a service fee.
- You can get the Lost Ticket Refund Applications at any Alaska Airlines ticket counter or by calling/faxing the Refunds department.
- The lost ticket process takes at least 4 months.
Rebooking Policy
For Involuntary Passenger:
The airline will rebook you to your destination as soon as possible if you are involuntarily denied boarding. You will also be eligible for the following compensation:
- Rebooked to arrive at your destination within 1 hr: No compensation
- Domestic flights rebooked to arrive 1-2 hours later, or international flights 1-4 hours later: The 200% of the value of the affected flight segment(s).
- Domestic flights rebooked to arrive 2 or more hours later, or international flights 4 or more hours later: The 400% of the value of the affected flight segment(s). You may elect not to travel. In this case, the airline refunds the affected flight segments in addition to your monetary compensation.
Note: Flight segment value is measured from the city where denied boarding occurs to the next stopover.
Denied Boarding Compensation:
- Denied boarding compensation is possible if you checked in (including all baggage checked, applicable charges paid and any paperwork completed) at your departure gate at least 30 minutes before the posted departure time.
- Passengers need to be arriving at the airport at least one and a half hours before departure and two hours for international flights.
- If you are unable to meet the required check-in time requirements, you may be denied boarding without compensation.
For Voluntary Passengers:
The airline rebooks the flights of volunteer passenger on the next available flight to your destination at no additional charge. This may not be the next flight and may include flights on other airlines.
