Real suffering happens when you lose your baggage. It’s the major problem that can piss off a passenger. A loss of baggage can never be denied because you can’t buy every necessary thing at once. Not each thing can be recovered from shopping so it is the biggest loss anyone can suffer during travel.

If you have lost your baggage while flying with British Airways here’s what necessary steps you must take:

First of all, you keep in mind that if the baggage is delayed / lost due to airline’s fault you are entitled to compensation.  You need to take quick actions to apply for the compensation:

  • Go to the airline baggage claim area and report your issue to them, according to British Airways policyit must be done within 8 days of the flight.
  • In case you have travel insurance that covers luggage then it is going to be easy for you to claim.
  • At airline’s customer service department you need to file the report and in return they will provide you a PIR or file reference number of 10 digits.

You will be asked for:

  • Flight details like date, flight number, and departure and destination airport.
  • Amount of money you’re claiming for
  • A detailed description of lost baggage and the stuff inside it
  • Copies of all the required documents

You can even check the status of your lost baggage using the PIR number that you receive during you file the report of missing bag.

Flight Delay:

You have to head to the airport ahead of your original departure time if your flight is delayed.

Flight Cancellation:

In case your flight is canceled due to any technical fault or airline’s mistake they will rebook you next available flight automatically.

Had previously had a rubbish flight with BA, but this time back to the usual standard. Everything was comfy and friendly staff. Roomy seats and legroom.Especially liked the USB point under the seat.Great choice of M&S food on board.

We flew to Nice through London, and back from Paris through London. All in all, both were good experiences. All the flights left on time and arrived on time. There were hiccups at Heathrow (congestion and had to wait on a bus for a plane to pass) and Newark (no gates were available and there were mechanical problems with the walkway), but neither of these had anything to do with BA.

The staff was friendly and professional throughout those events and at all other times. The transatlantic segments were very good. The food was decent (I don’t expect much) and the onboard entertainment was good. The entire family was happy with all the flights and we would happily fly with BA again.

Having had a not particularly good experience with BA Business Class we decided to try First this time and found the whole experience first class in every respect. Staring with the Terminal 3 lounge which was so much quieter and comfortable than the Business Class lounge, the pods were spacious and comfortable, the service, food, and wines were all five star. My wife and I were invited to dine together in her pod with individual silver service. The in-flight nightwear was practical and comfortable and helped to reach looking smart.
