Passengers arriving no longer need to use a shuttle bus to catch a Lyft, Uber, or other ride-hailing services at LaGuardia Airport’s Terminal B.
Through a covered, temporary walkway connecting to Level 2 of the Terminal B parking garage, travelers landing at Terminal B can access the new car service pick-up area directly from the departures level.
On the second level of the new Terminal B parking garage, all car services will pick-up Terminal B passengers, which inaugurated earlier this year. Along the walkway connector, enhanced signage throughout the terminal, and in the garage will direct passengers to the new area. To provide assistance, Port Authority staff will be on hand during the transition.
At the airport, it is a part of an $8 billion construction project.
In a statement, Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton said: “We are pleased that this construction milestone will make it easier for passengers arriving at Terminal B to find their car service driver. We thank passengers for their patience as they continue to navigate the impact of construction. This construction project ultimately will yield a complete redevelopment and modernization of LaGuardia Airport. Under Governor Cuomo’s leadership, LaGuardia will be the first entirely new airport built in the U.S. in more than 20 years.”
The areas of drop-off and pick-up for Terminals C, D and A will remain the same.
