Southwest Airlines is eliminating its $5 fee for in-flight movies, joining other airlines in offering more free entertainment.
This month’s movie choices include “A Bad Mom’s Christmas,” “12 Strong” and “Early Man.”
“Our research shows that a positive experience onboard the aircraft can greatly influence the decision to come back to Southwest, “Ryan Green, Southwest’s chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “We listened to our customers are enhancing our already award-winning experience.”
Southwest eliminated its $2 fee for in-flight messaging in September.
Airlines have been upping their in-flight entertainment lineup. Delta and American have offered free in-flight movies, on seatback screens or passenger’s personal devices, since 2016.
American recently added free live TV, something already available on Southwest, JetBlue and Delta.
