With the rising COVID 19 cases in the world, many countries are implementing restrictions on travel. Whether it’s for international travelers or for their own citizens. In the recent past, a high number of Covid 19 cases have been reported from the USA and Europe, which are sending signals of grave concern. In this worsening situation, UAE has put a travel ban on its own citizens.
According to a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign and The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Unvaccinated citizens of UAE are not allowed to travel, and those who are vaccinated against Coronavirus, now need to get a booster shot in order to travel as per country’s protocol for booster doses.
UAE is one of the most visited countries in the world during the pandemic. Travelers from around the world visited the country as it was one of the few countries which opened its borders for international travelers amidst the COVID 19.
The newly reported Omicron variant of Covid 19 has been termed as a variant of concern by the World Health Organisation. The variant is making an impact on many countries and forcing them to shut down their borders once again for international travel.
